About Us
Dr. Tracy Plough DVM, DACT

Dr. Tracy Plough was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She has always had a passion for horses as well as science. Therefore it was only natural for her to combine her passions for medicine and horses. She is a proud graduate of the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College.
Following graduation in 2007 Dr. Plough returned to BC and worked as an associate veterinarian and completed an internship in equine reproduction. Following that Dr. Plough traveled to Austria and worked as a resident at the University of Vienna with a focus on equine reproduction. Tracy returned home and continued her advanced training in reproductive medicine during this time she also took the opportunity to traveled to Australia for the 2013 equine breeding season. In Australia she worked with several large breeding operations, both thoroughbred farms, as well as a large volume of embryo transfer facilities, and this is where she was able to hone her skills in ET.
Dr. Plough qualified and became board a certified specialist in equine reproduction and a Diplomate of The American College of Theriogenologists in 2014. She went on to establish her own practice, Plough Equine Veterinary Services in the greater Vancouver area of British Columbia Canada, which she has owned and operated since then, in 2017 she took a break from her practice and joined the Team at Pioneer Equine hospital in Oakdale. During her time in California Dr. Plough ran the daily operations of the stallion center as well as managed the ART mare programs for that hospital.
However, home is where the heart is and after a few years, Tracy returned to BC. where she re -established herself as The Equine Reproductive Specialist in the area working along side the team at Meadow Lane Equine Clinic. It soon became clear that the need for reproductive services out grew the available space, and so in 2020 Glen Valley Equine Reproductive Centre was established allowing Dr Plough to see more clients at that facility.
Currently Dr Tracy Plough is the only Registered Equine Reproduction Specialist in the province of BC, she is an expert and professional in her field. She takes pride in her work and loves nothing more then playing a part of creating that dream foal for clients.
Outside of work you will find Tracy hanging out with her husband Kevin and their dog Karma or enjoying time with her horses. Dabbling in the hunter Jumper world again and trying out cutting on her little mare "Crackers".
